21 Rules for Social Media Success
Social media is reinventing marketing, communications, and the dissemination of information. While businesses now have access to these rich channels, the true promise of social media lies in the direct connections between people who represent companies and the people who define markets of interest.
Today, many businesses approach this with the establishment of social media guidelines and policies. This is indeed an important step, and not one worth economizing. But it’s also not enough. I highly recommend establishing official procedures that remind representatives of the importance and privilege of engagement.
The openness of popular networks is trivial. Any business can join and create a profile. It’s the devices we employ, the intentions that motivate engagement, and the value we offer that dictate the significance of the brand-specific social graphs we weave. It’s a simple investment in either visibility or presence. In social media, just like in the real world, presence is felt.

Essential Tips For Facebook Privacy
The latest changes to Facebook have seen their fair share of criticism, with many users examining more closely the definition of “public vs. private.” Some users have been turned off enough by Facebook’s envelope pushing when it comes to privacy to go so far as to contemplate a mass Facebook exodus.
Whether or not the changes become the final blow to Facebook’s tenuous relationship with privacy remains to be seen. However, protecting your privacy is important on any social network, so while you’re still on Facebook, here are a few important privacy tips to keep in mind as you navigate the site’s newest incarnation.

Online Video Will Push Internet Traffic to Quadruple by 2014!!!
Cisco Systems has predicted that Internet networking traffic will have quadrupled between 2009 and 2014 in its Annual Visual Networking Index Forecast. It also predicted that online video will be the primary driver of that growth.
Cisco’s report says that 767 exabytes of data (one exabyte is the equivalent of one billion gigabytes) will be transferred online in 2014, and that 91% of consumer traffic will be online video, which will include both traditional web video and video-on-demand provided by television providers.

You Crashed The Server!
I’m sorry! It’s not your fault exactly… we did a soft launch yesterday and this is exactly
why we do soft launches. We drove so much traffic to our page explaining how you can make
some good money by helping small businesses generate leads that our server crashed.
So if you missed it, here are a few things the video covered:
* How you can cash-in on the biggest business trends of this generation
* How you can own your own business without buying a million dollar franchise
* How you can co-author a book with Bestselling Author Gerry Robert and borrow his status to build your business
This is the image people saw (after it crashed):
Sorry about that. We resolved the issues and put some resolutions in place so it does not happen again.
Sincerely,
Gerry Robert

P.S. You better move quickly before our server gets another load of traffic and slows to a call. I’m just kidding, but seriously, go now!!
Global Study Reveals Fascinating Results!
Hello,
has provided the opportunity for us to continuously push the
envelope and raise the bar, in order that we may provide a higher
standard of service. We recently conducted a global study covering
all areas of industry and the results were astonishing. I wanted to
share these results with you.
The study posed the following questions to thousands of individuals?
goal?
2) On average, how much were you under your goal or over your
goal?
3) What were the major reasons why you didn’t (or did) hit your
income goal?
Conclusion of the study found that:
* In the last five years, over 96% of participants did NOT hit
their income goal.
* Most participants were below their income goal by 30%,
meaning that they achieved only 70% of their initial
expectation.
* The two major reasons that participants didn’t hit their
income goal: they lacked the courage to do what they knew needed to
be done, and they lacked a prosperous environment — supportive
team, lead generator, and systems.
The results are astonishing, but what I find most intriguing is the
human element and the personal components of each answer. Here are
some examples I saw- all personal, and no two people are the same,
but I believe you will find a commonality among them all.
Using LinkedIn For Marketing
Have a Linked-In account but don’t know how to use it as a marketing tool? Well then read on as having an idle account will do no good and you will miss out on the opportunity. As we all know Linked-In is a professional networking site that brings together entrepreneurs and professionals from various fields. With most people logging for job related information and updates, this sites works as a good platform to advertise and market your business.
Creating an impressive profile counts on Linked In. Profile gives an identity to you on the site. This identity makes a difference as people choose to link with you only depending on what they get to know about you from the information uploaded.
Networking is the key for success on Linked In. Add people to your network to build a list of potential clients. For better business prospects, you can always find people or companies working in the same lines. Keep updating your connections frequently.
Join and be a part of group discussions. You can choose to join groups that are relevant to your business. Being a part of groups helps you connect well with other members. You can contribute and share your ideas initiated by the group. There are good numbers of topics for discussions everyday. You should also choose to answer questions put up by other users as it will not only help to connect but also get visibility.
Why Marketing Is More Than Being A Creative Director
What is advertising? Wikipedia states it as follows – Advertising is a form of communication intended to persuade its viewers, readers or listeners to take some action; it usually includes the name of a product or service and how that product or service could benefit the consumer, to persuade potential customers to purchase or to consume that particular brand. Hence, the purpose of advertising is to persuade customers to buy the product or service advertised, right?
Now, what do you mean by “being a creative director”? First of all let us understand the meaning of creativity – Creativity is a mental and social process involving the discovery of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. Thus, being a creative director in advertising means trying to come up with new ideas for advertising, correct?
Think of it – can you have new ideas but still not be able to persuade customers? Of course yes! If we take the analogy of films you would understand better. Almost all critically acclaimed films are creative, but many of them just bomb at the box office without even a trace. Why? It is because just as films and advertising is more than being a creative director – you need to connect to the audience in the first place.
